Maryna completed her LLB degree in 2013 at the North-West University, Potchefstroom. She began her professional career in 2014 by practising as a candidate attorney and was formally admitted as an Attorney of the High Court of South Africa in May 2016.
Following her admission, Maryna moved into the commercial legal environment, specifically focused on the sectional title, financial/funding and collection sectors. During her time in this role, she also completed a Homeowners Association Management course with Paddocks and the University of Cape Town.
She was then promoted to Legal Specialist where she focused on providing legal advice and developing internal and external training programs to benefit fellow staff members and industry role-players. One of the key highlights in her role as a legal specialist was the launch of the online “Introductory Guide for Sectional Title Owners” course by the Training Academy for Community Schemes (TRACS).
Maryna also completed a Compliance Management Course with the University of Cape Town. In May 2022, she kicked off her journey in the governance and compliance sector as Group Company Secretary of Bright Light Solar VCC and STS Investment Holdings. During this time, she also completed the directorship program presented by the Institute of Directors South Africa (IoDSA). She is currently working towards obtaining her Certified Directorship.
