Switching to solar is one of the smartest choices a South African community scheme can make. It lowers electricity bills, provides reliable backup power during outages, and adds lasting value to the property. But what truly sets Bright Light apart is how we bring that transformation to life. Here’s a look at our award-winning process in action: 

1. Preparing the site

Before any work begins, our teams prepare the area with precision. Safe zones are marked, materials are neatly organised, and residents are notified in advance. A well-prepared site means a smooth, safe and efficient installation, which is the foundation of our success. 

2. Clearing and strengthening carports

Where panels will be mounted, existing carports are carefully dismantled and replaced with new, durable structures designed to carry solar panels securely for decades. 

3. Checking below ground

Safety comes first. We scan the ground for water pipes and cables before opening any trenches, ensuring no damage to underground services. 

4. Pouring solid foundations

Our installations are built to last. Strong concrete bases are poured for carports, inverter stations and battery enclosures, forming the backbone of the system’s strength and stability. 

5. Installing carports and solar panels

Once foundations are ready, the carports go up and panels are mounted at the perfect angle to capture maximum sunlight. At this point, residents can see their property transforming into a clean power generator. 

6. Setting up the inverter station

The inverter is the system’s “brain.” We build weatherproof, tamper-resistant enclosures to keep it safe and functioning at peak performance year-round. 

7. Running the cables

Both alternating and direct current cables are installed neatly underground, protected within conduits for safety and longevity. 

8. Installing inverters and batteries

Next, the power system comes to life. Inverters and batteries are securely mounted, connected, and tested to ensure optimal performance. 

9. Testing and commissioning

Before any switch is flipped, we rigorously test every part of the system. Qualified engineers confirm all connections, safety features, and performance under different load conditions. 

10. Powering on and handover

Once testing is complete, the system is powered on and solar energy begins flowing. A final quality check ensures everything meets our high standards before the project is signed off.
